I have not had need to use the Spector Soft program in quite awhile. It worked really well but had the side effectof triggering all the usual anti-spyware software we run (Symantec and Webroot back then and TredMicro now). Because basically it IS spyware. It is supposed to have some features to slip under the radar of inhouse tools but the user I was monitoring did get messages from time to time and I just said to ignore them. So it is not quite as "stealth" as I would have liked. There are at least a couple newer versions sicne then (as evidenced by frequent upgrade emails I get) so perhaps they have evolved with the anti-spyware products. It does what it claims to be able to do and was not overly expensive.
We never used it in conjunction with Citrix so I don't know about that. As far as processing overhead I did not notice much but it did fill up a fair sized logging file with the screens and sites visited.
BTW...the user being monitored was vindicated...not that he ever knew there was a question. We have not had to use it since but do occasionally dump out the web traffic "packets by user" report from our SonicWall firewall....just to see who the big users are. Lately this has been skewed by increased use of streaming radio stations on weekends (when they are allowed).

Todd C.,
I too am asked to do some sniffing. I found this message, and was
wondering how the Spector Soft selection went for you. I am pretty
sure from other postings I have seen from you that you use Citrix.
Does this specific product work ok with Citrix? Are there a lot of
processing overhead for this tracker?
Thanks,
Bruce
