When running Epicor through a Citrix server (load balance) and I switch companies I’m still pulling data from the original company that I was currently in. If I close out and log back in everything works correctly.
I’m not using a Classic or active home page. The active home page option seems to work correctly.
Thanks
We still use classic, but a few thing’s I’ve noticed …
Favorites save the Site/Company with it. So regardless of the company or site you’ve switched to, the program will be launched using the info saved with the favorite.
The full tree view ensures the desired company/site is used. Selecting Inventory Transfer in the screen below launches it for the Chalfont Site. Had I expanded the Houtston site and navigated to Inv Trans, that would launch for the Houston site.
But ,
If I launch Inv Trans from the Chalfont site, it gets added to the History list
If I change Site to Houston (by either Change Site toolbar icon, or even just selecting the Houston node on the tree), and then click GO next to the history, it will launch it for the Houston site.
For some strange reason a number of our users when they switch from one company to another they are seeing the data from the previous company. For example a user in one company opens a sales order list, they see the correct sales orders. Then they switch to the second company and open the same list instead of seeing the second company’s orders now they still see the first company’s orders. This is happening in all modules not just sales orders… and using favorites or menus makes no difference.
We are on 10.2.500.24 and have not applied any patches since September 6th. This just started happening yesterday.
I would report it. It has popped up in various versions of 10.2 going back at least to 10.2.300. Our work-around was to log out and back in when changing companies.
Are they closing the form between switching companies? Because I think the form is tied to a company when it launches.
Change to company A
Open Order Entry form (leave open)
Change to company B
Form opened in step 2 is still “connected” to company A. Using “Open With …” in any of its fields should make the opening form also be in company A
New forms launched will be in company B
Note: Not sure about Multi -company, but in Multi-site, favorites store the site to be used as well. So even if all forms are closed and you switch to site B, clicking a favorite that was creted while in site A will still launch that as site A.
Have them go into the form’s Options and enable showing the company on the status bar
We saw this exact behavior but only in the Modern Shell. Users would close all forms, change companies, go to new company, search for a document in that company and wouldn’t find any. Do a search to find it and the previous company information would show up. This was not with favorites or Open With. I saw it with my own eyes and not just what the users were saying. The only users who saw it were in Finance but then they were the only users moving between companies. It started in 10.2.300 and seemed to get fixed with .400. Maybe a bug was re-introduced in .500?
That company was only multi-company and not multi-site. Here we are multi-site but not multi-company and I have not seen it here. We have a fair number of users who consistently change sites so I would think we would have seen it by now. (10.2.500)
Update: seems using Classic eliminates the issue (not really an option for us unfortunately). When the issue happens, we noted that even if the user has developer access, the customization dialog is not popping when opening a menu. It is like all session variables seen by the client are not passed correctly???
We tried re-installing the client and also a full fresh install from ground up (to .500.27), no luck.
