Windows Server 2008 and Progress/Vantage 8.03.404 install

I am running Vantage 8.03.404B with SQL Server 2005 on a Windows Server 2008
Std. I prpbably would not have gone this route if I had known about it not
being certified yet, but our Sales person said that is. I didn't find out
until the Epicor install Tech was 10 minutes into the install and asked why
my desktop looked the way it did. Luckily, the Epicor Tech went ahead and
installed it. It has worked flawlessly since. I have zero issues with it.
Basically, WS2008 is a supercharged version of Windows Vista, as long as you
are familiar with the differences between Windows XP and Windows Vista you
should be fine. I have even begun preliminary testing running Vantage using
Terminal Server 2008's Remote Application feature, and it has worked
perfectly so far.

Are there any users on the forum who may have tried testing or are currently using Vantage 8.03.404 with an OpenEdge installation on a Windows Server 2008 O/S?
Epicor indicates that OpenEdge has not certified Progress to run on Server 2008 so they will not support it.
I wanted to check.
Thanks in advance

We originally were on Server 2003 32-bit and needed more RAM and
tried to make Server 2008 work but finally gave up and went to Server
2003 64-bit. The Progress Explorer tool does not work yet under
Server 2008 and we could not get the app servers and database working
just using scripts.

I did some testing on a 2008 server but elected to stay with 2003 when I
upgraded our server. It is possible to get Progress Explorer to run
remotely from a workstation. It took a little tweaking but I did make
it work successfully. I discounted the inability to run it on the
server to almost a non-issue so that was not much of a factor in my
decision. I was really not keen on loading 5 year old software,
however, because of the lack of Vantage certification, the possibility
that Epicor may not support the application running on 2008 server and
that I did not believe there was enough testing of the 2008 server
environment, I elected to stay with 2003 server. It was a tough
decision though. I hope I don't regret it in the future.
