Where does the reference field go after quote become order? Need field to filter on in SO

We want to use the reference field to track project names. We do not have a need for the projects module, but instead track the reference field more for marketing purposes. Is there a searchable field we can use in the quoting stage that carries over to the sales order and we would be able to filter on in the sales orders. Not sure the reference field will do the trick.

Can anyone familiar with Kinetic 202 help with this?

If you create the order from the quote, you have a linked quote, and from there you could get back to the quote to see whatever you need from there.

To make that searchable, you would need to make a quick search that calls the BAQ and that field can be a searchable field.

Thank you! Could we create a custom UD field and have that pushed over from the quote? We already are modifying the order header.

Yeah you can, you would have to put a BPM in place (actually a few if you use method directives) for when you create an order from a quote to do the update.

It’s kind of technical, what level of technical ability are you working with?

Not technical… I will likely wrap this into our customizations with Epicor. As I’m learning the system though, I’m trying to determine the best way forward for some of these must haves that we have in our current system. Besides the PO field, is there another field like that which carries over to the order form?

I’m sure there a bunch. Part number, qty, price, I’m sure some of the comments. You’ll have to do some testing and see what comes over.

These comments should come over methinks.
