What's new in 5.1

Epicor did change the name back to Vantage because of it's industry familiarity.

Has anyone noticed in the "What's New in 5.1" document.... it starts
out with..
"Vantage 5.10, formerly eManufacturing..." ha ha ha,... what happened
to "eManufacturing, powered by Vantage"???

I wonder if the new login screen will say..."Vantage, formerly powering
eManufacturing, but now powered by Dataworks!" ;)

A few days ago someone asked about how 5.1 training was going to be
implemented. Below is some info that our education department asked that I
pass along.

I am responding to the e-mails that pertain to 5.1 training. I would like to
communicate the following approach for orienting users on the 5.1 release.

One of the programs that is part of the eLearning family focuses on What's
New... This series is considered to be the main vehicle of informing the
installed base about the latest and greatest features. eLearning continues
the tradition of capitalizing on using the Internet as an alternate
communication tool. Classes in this series provide an overview of the
feature, present the business case for introducing this feature (when
applicable), and a software walk though of the enhancement. Each session
concludes with a brief Q&A.

Examples of what you will find in this series for Vantage 5.1 include:

* What's New in 5.1... Universal Changes
* What's New in 5.1... Quality Assurance
* What's New in 5.1... Field Service

Each of these classes are currently scheduled.

Over the course of the next several weeks, three additional classes will be
added.

* What's New in 5.1... Shop Floor Interface
* What's New in 5.1... Advanced Materials Management Module
* What's New in 5.1... Active Planner

If you are currently running an earlier version of Vantage, you may be
interested in:

* What's New before 5.1... Universal Changes

This class will be added in November.
Thanks for the info, Tim.

How is the eLearning implemented? How much do the classes cost?

Regards,
Scott

Tim,

When I try to view course schedules on the epicor website, get the following
message:

"Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers error '80040e37'

[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]Invalid object name
'EventTypes'.

/tools/events.asp, line 68"

Is something currently wrong with the education pages?

The website is back up. All info, including how to register for What's New
eLearning and the hardware requirements necessary to attend an eLearning
session are listed on the education section of the web site.
