What is the DMT menu for part maintenance?

Hello everyone,

My company is trying to use Epicor’s safety stock feature. When it falls below the safety stock quantity, we want to do PO Suggestion as much as the safety stock quantity.
So I found out that I needed the basic information below. Of course we could use more information, or we could need less information, but we decided to include this much information.

  • Part Maintenance : 1. Safety Stock, 2. Max Lot Size, 3. Min Order Qty, 4. Lead Time, 5. Supplier, 6. Buyer, 7. Generate PO Suggestions √
  • Supplier Price List : 8. Unit Price

However, there are so many parts that it is impossible to type them directly into Epicor. So I want to use DMT to bulk upload. By the way, I don’t know which menu the above 8 fields are in DMT. I looked it up through Template Builder, but I don’t know if it’s the correct field and it’s hard to find.
Can you tell me what menu the above 8 fields are in DMT?
Please help me.

@pilio.lee Do a right click on the ui and pick field help. You will want to use the pin to hold it open. Once open pick the technical details to get where that field is in the database.

For DMT that should work. For queries there is sometimes a better choice for joins and performance, but this should get you started.

Thank you very much for your help. I found that menu with your help.

BTW - In Epicor your Supply Chain users can review and update many of those fields with the Min/Max Safety Update program. You search by Part Class and they can update the fields directly in a grid view. The program is also designed to perform mass calcuations and Proposals for Min, Max & Safety values based on the Part usage up to over the last year. The Usage parameters can be set per Part Class or per Part.

Did you mean Min Max Safety Mass Update?
Unfortunately, we haven’t used Epicor much, so we lack historical data.

Yes, but you don’t need any historical data to use it for mass review and update.
The historical is just for getting proposed values.
You just need to enable the calculation in each of your Part Classes and then use the Binocular icon and search for and recall the Part Class you want to review. Then you can just enter the values you want and as you go it saves.

okay. Do I have to input and save each one?
There are over 5000 parts we have to enter. So I’m trying to bulk upload from DMT.
Is this feature also available for bulk upload?

Most Epicor grid records auto save when you move to the next record in the list.
For initial data load using DMT PartPlant is probably best, however, from time to time there will be a need to review and update the planning parameters and this tool is a great way for end users to be able to independently work instead of asking IT to run yet another DMT. With this tool you can even export the list to excel, make your changes and paste insert them back in, or you can update them directly in the grid. But if you are not familiar with this process, you should test in a Test environment first.
