Vista 8.00.412A Dashboard/Query for Job Operations

Thank you,

I did actually find an example of what I was looking for, except without
the customer info. Tried to modify that one, saved as another name of
course, but quite frankly I don't know enough about adding the Tables,
especially when it comes to the customer table....either I get
everything doubled or tripled, or nothing at all.

You can also upload to the files section of this user group.

I suggest you peruse what is already uploaded as you may already find an
example of what you are looking for.

Absolutely. The export generates a XML file. You may have to change the
extension before you email it as many companies will not allow XML files
as attachments as they can contain malicious code.

I was wondering are we able to share BAQ's and Dashboards. Can a

allowed?

Ellen,

We have a query with this information. Our join is from JobHead to
JobProd using the fields Company and Jobnum. We then joined JobProd to
OrderRel as an outerjoin(if you don't do an outer join you will not get
jobs released for stock) using the fields company, ordernum, orderline
and orderrelnum. We then did another outerjoin with OrderHed to Customer
using the fields company and ordernum. This should get you started down
the right track. Our query started with JobHead as the first table and
JobProd was the first table we joined to.

Support is right: JobProd IS correct.

Join from it to the OrderHed, OrderDtl and/or OrderRel table(s) thru
Company, OrderNum, OrderLine, OrderRelNum

Join JobHead to JobProd thru Company & JobNum.

When creating the BAQ, add JobProd first before any other tables... It
will increase the odds the the Phrase Builder joins the tables properly.
It is only making an educated guess as to how you really need the tables
joined.

Having the ability to link the Customer to a job will depend upon how
the demand for the job is generated. If the job demand comes from the
sales order then the customer link is easily obtained from the Order
Release table. If the demand it for stock then that link does not exist
directly from Vantage. We have several dashboard/reports that use that
link.

Hi,

I am new to the group and was wondering if anyone had a dashboard or
query to share that would show the customer name along with the job
number and operations. Currently we are putting the customer name in
the comments section of the job header. Then I am pulling in that field
into the query, to show we know who the job is for. I also pull
operations and several other fields. Support says that is difficult to
link the customer name with a job in a dashboard or a query.

Thank you in advance

Operations

Having the ability to link the Customer to a job will depend upon how
the demand for the job is generated. If the job demand comes from the
sales order then the customer link is easily obtained from the Order
Release table. If the demand it for stock then that link does not exist
directly from Vantage. We have several dashboard/reports that use that
link.

Hi,

I am new to the group and was wondering if anyone had a dashboard or
query to share that would show the customer name along with the job
number and operations. Currently we are putting the customer name in
the comments section of the job header. Then I am pulling in that field
into the query, to show we know who the job is for. I also pull
operations and several other fields. Support says that is difficult to
link the customer name with a job in a dashboard or a query.

Thank you in advance

Ellen

Absolutely. The export generates a XML file. You may have to change the extension before you email it as many companies will not allow XML files as attachments as they can contain malicious code.

Hi

I was wondering are we able to share BAQ's and Dashboards. Can a
dashboard be exported and emailed to someone. Is this something can be
allowed?

Ellen

Support is right: JobProd IS correct.

Join from it to the OrderHed, OrderDtl and/or OrderRel table(s) thru
Company, OrderNum, OrderLine, OrderRelNum

Join JobHead to JobProd thru Company & JobNum.

When creating the BAQ, add JobProd first before any other tables... It
will increase the odds the the Phrase Builder joins the tables properly.
It is only making an educated guess as to how you really need the tables
joined.

Thank you,

I will give that a try. Support had said to try the Jobprod
table...but that didn't work.
