Vendor Tracking

For our ISO guidelines I need to know if our vendors are meeting our
delivery requirements. Does anybody know if I can track vendors
according to their ability to meet these delivery schedules?

Joan
Sadly I don't have an answer for you on this one, but we have been trying to
get there also and for the same reason.

The biggest problem is there is a promise date that would allow you to track
when the shipment is due by the vendor's shipping schedule (vs. the one you
asked for via the due date), but the promise date does not show up anywhere
of use like the trackers allowing that information to be shared. We asked
that this field show up in the trackers so we could adjust this data
according to the updates from the vendor, but for now we have to adjust the
due date and thereby destroy the history of our requested date of delivery.
If someone has worked this out, please fill me in too.

We had difficulty tracking this until we had Corvu up and running. I
created a report comparing due date and receipt date. I didn't think
of using promise date. I just added the promise date field and from
what I could see, our materials manager doesn't change the due
date.Right now we are using it to evaluate the delivery reliability
of our major material vendors. What skews the data is data entry
errors, but causes of the errors have been identified. In the near
future we hope to use it to evaluate our subcontractors. Also,
concentrating on just late shipments, next early shipments exceeding
a window.

To reduce duplications, I joined two queries, 1.table: PO line item
del.sched, 2. table:receipt detail, joining on po num=po num,po
line=po line, po rel num=po rel num. The report has proven to be
reliable. We use it for ISO and as performance indicator. If you
don't have corvu, this may not help. Corvu 4.2,vantage5.2 going to
6.0 soon.
