VB field in Crystal

Todd,

What I did was create a VB form in order entry with check boxes for
different quality requirements. Long Form Certification, Short Form
Certification, Source Inspection, & etc.

I created a sub report to display the Boolean check box results formatted as
Y/N. So that this information shows on the order acknowledgement.

Just took a look at the help to refresh my memory. The UD aprt was for
something else. Here is text from help:
--------------
The External Name is the name of this field when it is exported to a .DBF
file for use in Crystal reports. The two letter prefix for the external name
is predefined: this identifies the data table with which the form is
associated. The external name can be no longer than eight characters.

----------

Wayne - Why the subreport? I've used many VB Form fields without needing
one. But not a logical type field (check box) that I can recall, is it due
to that type that a subreport is needed?

How do I get a VB field to show in the DBF file on the Quote Form? It
is created as a Check Box.

Thanks!

Gotta rush to fight a fire but a short version is...there is a pretty good description in the help section for VB Forms. Something about naming the field starting with UD. After print previewing to create the DBF file go back to Crystal and verify the database so that it then "sees" the field's name. It should then be available to use.

You have to create a sub report.
