Vantage Webservices Errors with Windows 2008 64bit Installation

It looks like I've got my problem fixed with the aid of Epicor support.



I needed to go into the Server roles and install IIS 6 compatibility.



The do an IIS reset and re-install the vantage webservices.

Hi everyone,

I'm installing Vista 8.03.408 running progress on a new Windows 2008
64bit server and I was able to get the system up and running, however,
I've been having a lot of trouble with getting the vantage web services
working.

I was unable to get the WS-Configuration tool to work, so Epicor support
recommended I install the web services onto a different computer and
then copy them to the new server. So, I've done that, and after copying
it over, I edited the web.config file to reference the new appserverurl.
Next I configured IIS to run in 32 bit compatibility mode and set up the
vantage services directory in IIS to run as an application.

I can view all of the web services and methods through the web browser.
When I try to execute one I get an error message (I tried in both
Service Connect and the WS-Tester; same error in both).

The error I received is

"Web service error : The type initializer for
'Epicor.Mfg.WS.Framework.WSSettingsHandler' threw an exception."

Has anyone encountered this before, or done a similar installation? Any
help would be appreciated. Thanks.
