I don't need to get that detailed. This is just 14 small references to some OCX routines and mfg.exe that are under "mfgsys60". All I need to do is remove all references to the old folder from their registry - not all of Vantage or Progress. Everything else works great. The Keys that are involved I am sure get overwritten in the client install process (not the Progress install which does not need to be done again between 6.0 and 6.1 - so no remove needed). It was just my own darned laziness that persuaded me to not re-run the client install. Pointing the shortcut to mfgsys61 was so much easier - but that did not update the old mfgsys60 references - mainly in registering the OCXs.

Removing vantage from the clients was a huge pain for us, too. After doing
a little digging on the Progress Support site, I constructed this document
to manually remove Progress and Vantage. It is extremely quick to do, works
great and doesn't require you to run the uninstall program from "Add or
Remove Programs" in the Control Panel. The dll's and other stuff left
behind get overwritten on the next install.
Hope this helps,
Chris

Todd,
I've only been able to get the registry cleared out and all speed issues
resolved by wiping out the workstation's drive and reinstalling everything.
Before that, just strange slow spots - like Part tracker or Job Tracker. It
might pull up in less the 1 second one time then the next 12 attempts will
take 30 seconds each.
I'm at the point of writing a Vantage/Progress registry cleaner. I'm just
taking care of 30 pc's, I really feel the those out there with more than 50.
GRRRRRR !!!!!

clients. I just re-pointed the shortcuts to mfgsys61. Now with mfgsys60
unshared as suggested all of the sudden these people can't login to Vantage.
There are 14 registry entries pointing to mfgsys60 including mfg.exe. Ooops.
So I get to now reshare the folder and then hit every Vantage user to update
them by reinstalling the client part (pretty quick w/o the Progress part but
still a hike all of the place - just what I was avoiding by cheating).
Or.....perhaps I could delete everything but the referenced files and leave
the "stub" folder there until I eventually clean them all up.
