HeHe... submit it as an enhancement request to Epicor. You might that
one in a day or two!

Not sure if this is possible but (in 6.10) would there perhaps be a table that records logins (and off) to Vantage (date and time) by user? Sort of like the change log? I need to rank all of my Vantage users from heavy to light users. If I could make a report showing days per month accessing Vantage and average connected time per day it would really help manage our occasional users better or demonstrate the need for more licenses.

I used to do this with an external app. It would cycle every 5 min (or
whatever cycle you wanted) and dumped the usage count to a txt file. Then
from another app, it would read the data from the txt file and display it on
screen using MSChart.ocx which gave me a nice timeline chart of user
activity. Since the data wasn't being utilized or even looked at for that
matter, I stopped using this.

Another option would be to read the .lg file. This contains all users
login/logout times (to progress sessions, not vantage). You might be able to
dump the data into excel or something an obtain some information you are
looking for.

Thanks. The .lg has it all but the format is horrible for matching events on the same date (date breaks are in report style, not part of each record line). It might be a last resort.

Would have been nice if UserFile table was usable by BAM to track changes to "LastDate" and "LastTime" - at least to record average logins per day and get a sense of who is getting in and getting out rather than sitting all day. Even better if that table had LastOutDate and LastOutTime and track them too with BAM.

I think I'm just going to have to swag it and guess who the heavy users are.

The problem is that the .lg file is only monitoring Progress (not vantage)
so a user using Report Builder or the data collection would show the same
"login/logout" as a vantage user would. If you run a report against the
LicUsers table on a timed interval and export the data to a text file or
such, you could then import that data into excel or external database for
charting. This is the method I was using with my clienttimeout to obtain
license usage over a period of time. The down side is that this will only
show you who is logged in at that specific time. It will not provide you
with times in/out. It will not also tell you whether or not a user is
actually using vantage or just camping on a screen. It could be useful to
show that employee A was on for 3 hrs with an average idle time of 30 secs
vs employee B who was on for 6 hrs with an average idle time of 45 min. I
would wager B have vantage minimized most of the day while A is actually
using vantage. I guess it all depends on how much time you want to try to
obtain this information, and then ask yourself, are you really going to gain
anything from this information.
