Try salvaging the die to the same part number so it goes back to inventory after the related operation/job is completed.

Would clicking off the PO Suggestions in Part Master help?

We do the same thing here with tools and also drawings. We just turn off
the PO Suggestions, MRP and get from Local warehouse checkoffs.

The only other thing I have not figured out how to get around is the Time
Phase. If you have one drawing and requirements on three jobs, you'll see a
negative on your time phase, but with the PO suggestions turned off, you
won't get a suggestion to acquire any.
