UPS Worldship provides a mechanism for data import. You can link to any flat
file structure to provide the information to the UPS system. The problem
occurs in the best choice for creating the flat file. Gary Grenier appears
to use a mechanism where he creates a flat file in CSV format for the UPS
system to use. I use a stand-alone Microsoft Access routine to perform the
queries and create a .DBF file for UPS to use. In my case, my product is
serial numbered and often packaged one serial numbered product to a box. I
had to use Access to run five different queries to create a final flat file
for UPS.
One caution, regardless of method, UPS Worldship does not yet allow more
than a single package per shipment. This means that you will create every
package as 1 of 1 in the UPS system regardless of how many you are actually
sending.

What are you transferring to UPS's database? Does it allow you to import
the entire packing slip information for shipments destine for UPS shipping?
What new ability is built into UPS Worldship for data transfer? It sounds
good....
