Vantage is too Small

Rick, good tip. I do see that setting in the 8.03 client.. I'll give it a
try. Thanks!

In Epicor 9 in the client config file there is a setting for Auto Sizing
with two options: none & DPI. The default setting is 'none.'
If it is set to DPI, in Win7 (Vista too?) Epicor will look at the OS setting
for scaling under Control Panel>Display and will then scale all Epicor
content accordingly. If it's set to 'none' Epicor does not scale anything.
This setting does nothing in WinXP.
We changed the config file for all clients to enable this option, so if the
user has adjusted their Display Epicor will as well. This works very well
for us.
If I remember right this was a new feature in 9.04, Vantage 8 does not have
this option, but double check.

I just rolled out a bunch of new PCs with Windows 7 and nice new monitors
to some of our users.

Since most of my users are AARP members, the XP-to-Win7 move has been
difficult.

One question popped up today that I've never been asked in 15 years working
with Vantage: Can I make the fonts bigger?

With the high-res on these newer LED monitors and coupled with the fact that
we have a lot of old eyes here, the fonts in the various Vantage screens are
somewhat small, I guess.

Besides changing the resolution of the monitor, is there any other option
I'm not thinking of?

TIA.

You can explicitly increase a computers font without changing resolution in Windows 7. I don't know how it works for Vantage, but in our E9 install increasing the system font size actually started throwing functionality errors in Epicor. We couldn't even open the Quote Entry until we decreased the font size again.

Ha.. funny enough, Win7 has a "Magnifier" app built in. Just discovered
that yesterday.
