Vantage - Inserting Line on Sales Order or Quote

Hi Linda,

Do you have access to EpicWeb?

Basically I have been told that you just need to submit it to support like you would with any support issue and say that you would like to log it as an enhancement request.

They have told me that unless people do raise issues as enhancement requests they will not look at them.

The more enhancement requests they receive means the higher up the queue it goes.

It is worth a try I think.

Thanks.

Hi Chris,

No. I don't know how and I doubt Epicor would do anything about it
anyway.

Hi Chris,

Our estimating department complains about that one too. Our workaround
is to add the line to the end of the quote, then copy all the quote
lines into Excel, renumber and resort the lines and then paste update
back into Vantage. It seems to work ok as long as the line is added
into Vantage before exporting to Excel.

Linda

Subject: [Vantage] Vantage - Inserting Line on Sales Order or Quote

Hi,

Have any of you ever had the request from your sales people for the
ability to ADD a quote line / order line in the middle of a quote or
order?

For example, if you have an order with 10 lines, but realise that when
following the customer's PS you have missed out line 5. Our legacy
system will allow us to INSERT a line at Line 5, and then it will
re-number the original 5-10 to 6-11.

I have raised this as an enhancement request as I am suprised Epicor 9
or Vantage dont do it as standard.

Thanks.

I would jump in on this enhancement as well. My sales guy asks me for this
at least once a month!

Couldn't you customize the form like the PO? Add in a "Customer Line #"
field that you would populate and then have the quote order by that instead
of the Epicor line #?

You 'Could' but every other system I have used has it as a standard feature.

It also means that you would have to make sure you got all of your numbering correct then change the sort order your Crystal reports sort on etc.

It is a work-arou8nd but not as easy as a simple 'insert line' button. It would mean the operator had to be 100% accurate when entering the order as the new field wouldn't auto populate etc.

(well with my knowledge anyway!)
