The question Rhonda asked is much more basic, just getting data out of
the database.
i can send Rhona a copy of what i made.

The question you asked is more complicated "hoomail4me" and would be
more difficult, but one you know where the wanted information is in the
database it can be looked up
and printed.

If you provide me you email adres i can send you our customization and
if of use............be my guest.

Is anyone using a third party or custom application for generation of
shipping labels and packing slips?

Vantage out-of-box functionality does not provide the flexibility for
our needs. Three largest issues:

1) Unique serialized label - sometimes one label per container,
sometimes two (both with same serial number).
2) In addition to unique serial number on label, one large customer
requires their trigger number - each label or set would have a UNIQUE
trigger number.
3) Each shipping container needs to be a line item on the packing slip
listing the serialized number and the trigger number (and other details).

Note: Before Vantage, I had created a shipping paperwork application
that would generated labels in batch mode from a customer order. The
only thing the shipping user would need to enter would be how many
containers shipping - that was it.

It has been suggested by a few individuals here that a customer order
LINE could be created for each shipping container. While this may
allow us to get the information on the label and packing slip this
would very inefficient and time consuming. Shipping 50 containers
would require 50 order LINES. My old custom solution required 1 order
LINE and paperwork generated from this one line.

I can't believe we are unique! Anyone know of a solution?

i've made a customization for this
it prints directy to our dymo label printer
a button is added to the customer shipment entry / po entry inventory ,
when this button is pressed, the label is
printed...............................simple but effective

Does anyone know whether the following function works
properly? Epicor.Mfg.BO.SalesOrder.ProcessOrder(int
iOrderNumber, bool bGeneratePackingSlip, bool
bGenerateInvoice, bool bReadyToShip, out int
iPackNumber, out int iInvoiceNumber, out string
sOperationMessage, Epicor.Mfg.BO.SalesOrderDataSet
ds).

I would like to call it to process the counter sale
order which should return a valid PackingNumber, and a
valid invoice number (bGeneratePackingSlip, and
bGenerateInvoice set to true) and close the Sales
Order as well.

However, the iPackNumber and iInvoiceNumber it returns
are always 0, and the sales order is not closed as
well.

Anyone have used this function before?
