Vantage 8.03 License

It automatically searches for an available license. If there is one
available then it just continues to work the way it worked before.

If there are no licenses available then it will say they have an invalid
session.

So then what happens when that user want to use their session again? Do they
have to log in again or if they try to use their session the screen
disappears like as if you lost connection to the server?

Thanks.

I am sure this has been talked about before, full Vantage Client license and MES license. Our company has been growing rapidily lately. We have two plants, one connect remotely while the rest connect locally to the server. Is there anyway to see if a session has been let say idle for 2 hours and to have Vantage end the session.

The only problem I see is if anything was open and in the middle of a data entry screen that has not be saved.

We have more users than we do Vantage License and a few times a day, every day we get a call that said, "Max. number of Users" message. Granted we have a few user who does not user Vantage all day long, but continues to keep their session open all day.

How do other users handle this situation? If we had a lot of money to throw at these expensive "full" Vantage license that would be no problem but no we don't

I am open to suggestions. Thanks in advance.
Use the "Session Timeout" option on the user settings page.

Session timeout doesn't close their session it just frees up a license if
they haven't used the system in X number of minutes.

Minimum of 15 minutes is required for the setting.

Is there anyway to see if a session has been let say idle for 2 hours and to
have Vantage end the session.

The only problem I see is if anything was open and in the middle of a data
entry screen that has not be saved.

We have more users than we do Vantage License and a few times a day, every
day we get a call that said, "Max. number of Users" message. Granted we have
a few user who does not user Vantage all day long, but continues to keep
their session open all day.

How do other users handle this situation? If we had a lot of money to throw
at these expensive "full" Vantage license that would be no problem but no we
don't

I am open to suggestions. Thanks in advance.
