Vantage 8.03 Installation Questions

We are operating like this, and it runs surprisingly smooth (knock on
wood).

Subject: [Vantage] Vantage 8.03 Installation Questions

Hello,

After I install 8.03, will I be able to run both 8.0 and 8.03 at the
same time (I will be installing 8.03 on the same server as 8.0).

I am not suggesting that I plan on doing this, but I wanted to know just
in case something happens to the 8.03 installation if I can still run
8.0.

Does the installation create new appservers and new databases or does it
upgrade the existing 8.0 ones?

Thanks,

Joe Rojas

I don't know for sure but...

Yes, new appservers, new databases, and new client folder (client803), new
ODBC ports as well.

I am doing it right now. There will be new Appsevers for each of the
803 DBs, and it should be installed in the mfgsys803 folder. I am
using the same mfgsysdata folder though. Make sure your sysagent
points to the right locations after installing though. I had to
reconfigure them.

Joe,

Yes, I have 8.0 and 8.03 installed and running on the same server in my
test environment. Not a problem.

We've been running both with no troubles.
