What bugs me is that I found in SO entry, if you right click and "open with"
in the Att: field (which is customer contacts) you see an option for
"Customer Contact Entry" It is a great little screen that does exactly what
I want.it lets you manage customer contacts without all the information on
customer maintenance. I wanted to put this option when right clicking in
Help Desk but the "Customer Contact Entry" form appears to use the same .dll
file as Customer Entry. I can never access this "Customer Contact Entry"
form anywhere else besides where vantage out it (ie. SO and quotes)

I would create a customization that only allows contact entry and update .
It should not be too difficult. You can hide all of the tabs the user does
not need to see and then disabled the fields on the main customer panel once
the customer has been retrieved. You also need to disallow customer add.

I know security of menus have always been a cumbersome point, and I don't
know if there is an easy way to do what I want. Many of our "general" users
are going to be creating and maintaining contacts for customers. It seems
that the only way to maintain these contacts is in Customer Maintenance.
Obviously, we don't want them maintaining anything else in customer
maintenance but the contact. Is my only solution to go into process
security and disable every method that I don't want them using? It seems
like in most companies, the people maintaining the customer record differs
from the people entering customer contacts. Does anyone have any advice?
