Vantage 8.03.409c sales order releases close short

Our problem goes the other direction. We ship directly from jobs for 95% of our sales orders and structure the linked jobs to the quantity to be shipped. This allows us to ship complete most of the time. Unfortunately, we have a sporadic problem where the job and the sales order are not updated with the shipped qty and complete status.

Definitely agree - it would be nice if they did something in 410 to actually make the shipping module work correctly!

I've had an open call with Epicor on this issue to no avail. I'm really hoping someone else has seen this. What happens is we have a release for 100 pcs of part A. We have, say, 90 pcs ready that we ship from 3 locations, so we create 3 packing slip lines (one for 40, another for 40, and one for 10). We do NOT mark any of these packing slip lines "ship complete", but yet, on occasion, the act of "shipping" the packing slip will close that release on the sales order, even though we still owe 10 pcs (which I have verified with the changelogs).

Has anyone else ever seen this and found the problem? It it so random and sporadic that Epicor has been no help...

There's a number of shipping bugs in Vantage right now. One that may cause your problem is shipping all and then changing something (either the quantity shipped or removing a line completely) can cause the order or pack to be marked shipped. We have orders of 100+ lines and have always shipped all and then adjusted from there, it is simply too time-consuming to ship all but one or two lines individually. Our shipping people know to watch the shipped complete box, they also know how to re-open an order if it ends up closed before it should it's completely shipped. Being the eternal optimist, I'm hoping that 8.03.410 (hopefully released this summer) fixes the shipping problems!
