Vantage 6.1 Database Name

You do not have to rewrite the RB reports. Copy the report libraries (.prl
files) to a new location if you want ( I have them in a "rblibrary"
subfolder in the mfgsys61 directory)

Start Report Builder, and before opening a report, select the
Options/Preferences pull down menu and select the "Prompt Always" at the
bottom of the screen that pops up. You should also change the default
directories in the Options menu to point to the directory where the
libraries reside.

Open the reports, point to the database, using the "Files" button, and then
using the "Options" button, changed the 'service name' to 'mfgsys61' or
whatever else it is and then save the report and you should be good to go,
except that if I recall correctly, some field names changed after 5.0 and
you will get errors that reflect the changes. One example is that
"Shippedqty" changed to "Ourshippedqty" (I have my opinion about that
change, but I won't go there). All you need to do is edit the field name in
the report, by inserting "our".

Feel free to call me if you have problems.

Subject: [Vantage] Vantage 6.1 Database Name

Hello All,

We are upgrading from vantage 5.0 to vantage 6.1. The biggest problem we
have is that all our report builder reports are written for a database
named vantage. Our 5.0 database was named Vantage.db and the logical
database was named vantage. The database will start in progress but we
cannot get Vantage to start with the database named vantage. The error
is "Database MFGSYS not connected (1006)" when the database and logical
database are both named mfgsys it works just fine. After talking with
Epicor Tech Support we were informed that vantage 6.1 will only run if
the database is named "mfgsys" and the file is "mfgsys.db". Does anyone
have a database with a different name? Is there a way to migrate our
custom report builder reports instead of having to rewrite them? I do
change the .mfg file to have the correct database in it but I think the
database is specified somewhere else.

Please Help.
