Vantage 6.0 to 6.1 conversion

5. Transaction History screen for some purchased parts crawl when
going thru the Transaction History page. Could be an indexing problem (ours
or Epicor). Don't know for sure now.

I'm seeing this also on parts with a lot of transactions, glad to here it is
not just me.

12.5 gig wow! I thought my 2gig was getting up there.

Subject: [Vantage] Vantage 6.0 to 6.1 conversion

We converted from Vantage 6.0 to 6.1 this weekend. Conversion was pretty
easy. took about 7 hrs to convert database(12.5 gig)

Problems / bugs we ran into:
1. Customer Maintenance screen, the "Contacts" at the bottom
doesn't refresh when you move between customers. The only contact that
appears is the contact for the first customer in the customer list.
2. Epicor changed the fonts for all the windows! I wish they
wouldn't do that!!! All my "over 40" users can't see the new fonts. I
called Epicor, and they didn't know which fonts in the ini file to change,
so I copied the fonts definition from the old mfgsys.ini file to the new
mfgsys.ini , and now we have the old fonts back.
3. If you right-click in the tree on the main menu, it says
"Explorer Properites", not Properties!
4. Still says "Vista Menu" under the View on main menu.
5. Transaction History screen for some purchased parts crawl when
going thru the Transaction History page. Could be an indexing problem (ours
or Epicor). Don't know for sure now.
6. Invoice line items are still printing out in random order. I
don't understand why nobody out there seems to care about this?!?!

The client install was easy, since 6.1 uses the same Progress version as
6.0.

We didn't us Epicor's uninstall. We used Rcrawler to remove the hundreds of
entries in the registry (mfgsys60 entries varied from 50 to over 250 entries
across our workstations). We then ran the MFGClientSetup.EXE, but didn't
install Progress.

I finally figured out why Epicor's un-install doesn't remove all the entries
in the registry. it is because their install program
(MFGClientSetup.EXE) doesn't add them. The majority of the entries to the
registry occur when you logon to Vantage. When you log onto Vantage for the
first time, the OCX's are registered in the registry!
