Have you considered A/R accounts? We do this for active employees when they
owe us things other than insurance, and the minute someone goes on COBRA for
insurance, we set it up as a receivable when we process the insurance bill
and credit their account when they make a payment. You would still have to
manually analyze the A/R accounts every month (or some other frequency), but
most companies do a regular analysis of their balance sheet accounts as they
review things for month end closings anyway.

Creative solution. Deduction reports by payment type show what has been
deducted from paychecks. Problem is when people ARE NOT on the payroll, and
have missed a payment. We keep manual spreadsheets to record the skipped
payment. Can be a real hassle to unravel and balance when several people
have been off work.
Would love to hear other folks' solutions.

Just wanted to get some insight from the group. We have a bunch of bean
counters up here that are using the vendor file to keep up with our
insurance. They are basically running the deductions like normal in payroll
then it all piles up in an account. They deplete this by issuing manual
checks to the "vendor". This enables them to run reports and keep up with
who payed what etc. We didn't know this was happening until it was already
done. Isn't there a better way of keeping up with this in Vantage. My
concern is the Vendor file is easily accessed by report builder and any
novice user could bang out a report of everyone's cafeteria plan. Any
suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks
