Vantage 4.0 Test Database

We were sent a document called 'Copying a Database'
It explains how to set up a separate vantage database, and then
how to copy from the live to the copy.

In 3.0, in addition to our live database we had the standard Vantage
training database and we also had a test database with our data in it. We
periodically copied our live database to it to keep it current so users
could test things out. We would like the same thing with 4.0, but I don't
know how to set it up (the epicor consultant did the one for 3.0 for us). I
thought I had seen some instructions on how to do this on their web-site,
but I have been searching and I cannot find them. If anyone has them, could
you forward them to me directly?

One of the easiest ways I have found to perform this while people are still
in the "Live" database is by using the Progress backup and restore utilities
from the DOS prompt as below:

1) On the Server, go to X:\epicor\progress\bin
2) Enter command: probkup online x:\epicor\vantage\db\vantage
x:\epicor\vntgtrn\db\vantback
3) Stop Proservice for training database
4) Enter command: prorest x:\epicor\vntgtrn\db\vantage
x:\epicor\vntgtrn\db\vantback
5) Start the training proservice

Of course steps two and four can be put into a batch file.
