V8 Customizations

Joe,

For the most part, customizing a form in V8 requires little
or no programming.

After launching Vantage , select developer mode from tool on the main
menu. Then when you open the form/screen you wish to customize, select
the base form and click OK.

Once inside the form select customization from the tools menu and then
do a "save as" to a different name, I usually prefix the name with "cst"
to indicate that this is a custom form. Also be sure to check of WIP
before saving.

Now you can make your customizations, for a checkbox you wish to hide, I
would set the tab stop option to false, and set the visible option to
false. This will give you the option of re-enabling this checkbox in the
future. Save your changes and exit developer mode to view the new form.

If the form looks the way you want it, exit the form, turn of developer
mode and go into menu maintenance to update your path to the new form.

If you have the education option on your maintenance, you can log into
the customer portal on Epicor's site and view the webex tutorial for
customization and personalization.

All custom forms can be exported to XML format and imported back, this
is helpful because it allows you to build your custom form in your test
or training database for testing and approval before publishing it in
the live DB.

Hope this helps

Subject: [Vantage] V8 Customizations

Hello,

We are interested in making some changes to existing windows in Vantage.

For example, hide the Create RFQ checkbox in the PO Suggestions screen.

How does one get started with learning how to do these kinds of in-house
customizations?

I am comfortable with programming and have worked with other development
IDE so I need something like a Vantage customization 101 book.

Thanks,

Joe Rojas
