V8 808 patch & Crystal XI R2

That's odd, I had to install the Bar39 font on day one, long before 808,
to get the barcodes to print.

Mr. Joe: We are having a problem with the Crystal Runtime not
releasing after printing/previewing a standard crystal report. For
instance if I print a job traveler and then try to run one of my
ODBC reports the system hangs. If I run the traveler and then print
a progress report and then print one of my ODBC reports it works
fine. Epicor has no solution for us at this time.

This is related to the previous posting on Crystal Runtime XI R2 not
releasing connections appropriately.

We are now seeing our standard XML based Crystal forms fail to
generate their dataset. The print dialog indicates that the report
has been submitted for processing / previewing, but it never shows up
in the System Monitor and does not write the XML dataset to the
mfgsysdata directory. We've chased every configuration problem we and
Epicor support has come up with to no effect.

My question is this: Is anyone else using V8 808 with XI R2, and are
you printing your travelers or any other standard form correctly?

We're running out of time on a roll-out deadline and need to know
whether this problem is unique to us, or are we wasting our time
chasing a non existant configuration problem. If so we'll have to
roll back to 807 and we need to get on that ASAP.

Thanks for your help,

John,

I just installed v8.00.808B & Crystal XI R2 yesterday on our test server.
Printing job travelers works for us.

Good luck finding the problem.

We are currently running 8.08 with XI R2 in a test enviroment and are able to print standard forms from Vantage. Prior to the new crystal R2 patch we were not able to print any of these forms.

We have a problem where bar codes not longer print out.

The solution that Epicor gave me was to register the bar code font with
Windows, which never the case before 808.

The part that bugs me the most is not that I have to go around to every
computer to make this fix but because Epicor doesn't want to acknowledge
this as a problem!
