V8.0 - Purchase Multiples - Is it there?

Thanks for all of the responses. The Multiples field on the
Inv/Purch form does only apply to Manufactured items. I am glad to
hear that it will apply to purchased items in V8. I'm just really
surprised the Min-Mult-Max concept was overlooked in V6.1.

The trick about entering a factor of 0 is very helpful and even
calculates to more decimal places on the receiver than the
purchasing factor on the part. The additional decimals on the
purchasing factor would be better since it would only have to be
calculated once, but the "0" trick is better than nothing. (Let's
see, 1 bottle = 3850 grams so 7 bottles would be . . . . Well,
there is always that calculator feature.)

Thanks again group.

This is just a question out of frustration. Does Vantage 8.0 allow
for purchase multiples to be stored for a part? Knowing that the
minimum purchase is 96 is great, but if you always have to purchase
in multiples of 96, it would be more helpful if the MRP suggestions
could take that into account. (I've worked in 4 other MRP systems
and this is the 1st without that feature!)

Since I am asking about V8, how many decimals does the purchasing /
sales factor allow? It is very frustrating when the PO allows for
more decimals in the price than the conversion factor. Items
purchased in square yards but stocked in square inches creates
conversion errors due to rounding. It would be easily fixed by
adding more decimals to the conversion factor (which has one of the
fewest number of decimals of any decimal number field.)

Sorry for the rant, err, suggestion for improvement. It has just
been one of those days.

Change factor to zero; now you can enter any numbers you like for our/their
quantity.

We are in the process of going to 6.1 and in our experiments it seemed to us that this applied
only to manufactured items in 6.1.

Too bad. We'd really like this feature.

Hi Ami

I asked a developer about this question and the response was that in 6.1 the multiples field only applies to Manufactured items, but in 8.0 it would apply to purchased items as well.
