V6.1 and default printer problems

Basically I feel they are OK. The unduplicatable situations have been rare for us and as far as I have seen from posts they tend to be very specific to the environments encountering them - usually related to other software or particular OS settings at a site that Epicor can't be responsible for. For us they have been pretty good at finding common threads at sites with a problem they can't duplicate. They ought to be able to make a list of sites reporting this issue and perhaps survey them for some commonality - there could be another software package using Crystal for reports that is interfering or has loaded a conflicting DLL.

I had an issue once with VBI where it would not update at night (would nto accept username/password) on our NT 4.0 server that they never did figure out....but they did hang in on the issue and installed VBI on our Win2K email server, and connected it to the database over the network, and it worked fine there (until installing 6.10 broke it). Once thing I can say about Support is that even if they can't solve something they do have a decent attitude and have never been grumpy or rude to me like support personnel for other products I've had.

Also, I have never had an Epicor support call where I did not have an email right after asking for feedback. If anyone has issues then they should blast them. My understanding is that these get read at a very high level.

As for features that don't work that's not TS's fault. I'd be all over my CAM for a refund if it was really clear in the evaluation that it was supposed to work a certain way but then it does not. On the other hand I've been guilty more than once of not evaluating deeply enough and making my own assumptions on how things will work.

More than a couple cents worth I guess.

Personally I am tired of all of the "features" that never really work as
advertised and the "issues" that just never get fixed.

If I am the only one I will climb off my soap box now and go back to my

noticed? It is the end of the year when all of the CAM's try to make their
nut. If several hundred customers decided to inform their CAM's that we
might not renew do you think the problem might get addressed?

What sort of things are being printed? Progress based reports or Crystal or RB? Or are all of them having the same problem? I vaguely recall some issues with Crystal related to DLLs but might also have had to "touch" each Crystal report (modified or not) by making a very minor change then saving it.

Over all after having dealt with Mapics, BPCS, QAD, and others - I think
Epicor TS quite good.

I am however beginning to get the feeling the 6.1 is Epicor's version
Windows ME.
