V6.0 Bom Refuses to check in form Engineering Workbench

Allen,

The problem in our case was that revision A of the assembly had part 1
reporting to part 2.

Revision B attempted to correct that by having part 2 report to part 1.

Separately, each revision the BOM looked sound, but apparently Vantage
saw that part 1 was linked to part 2 which was linked to part 1, thereby
causing the "circular reference" when we tried to check in this rev (as
a side note, revision A remained approved).

The only way we could eliminate the problem was to un-approve revision A
and remove part 2 from the revision A BOM structure. Things ran fine
after the fix.

Good Luck,

I suspected the same thing. The BOM that won't check in consists of 1
assembly and a line drawing. The subassembly BOM checks in although it
takes hours. That subassembly consists of 9 materials and 4
subassemblies all of which check in. I haven't found any circular
references and all subassemblies validate.

I'm sure that there is something wrong in the BOM but don't know where
else to look.

We had a similar problem a few months ago. It turned out to be a
circular reference on the BOM (a BOM part that calls itself out as a
component). The process would run for a long period, then it would
crash.

Check the current revision as well as any older, yet still approved
revisions.

We have a bom that refuses to finish checking from Engineering
Workbench. I have let the proces run for at least 24 hours. We have been
in contact with Epicor and have followed there suggestions to add -s
20000 and -inp 32000 to our startup.pf

Epicor has asked for the DB but the FTP transfer crashes after 20
minutes.
I'm lookig for suggestions on correcting the problem or what the issue
might be for uploaading the DB.

Thank in advance
