We use WinBatch to do just this. I would be happy to send you the script if
you'd like. There are a few tricks as mentioned below. One we use a
separate Vantage account to do this, two we use a keyboard shortcut to
launch Vantage and three I have placed MRP processing on the favorites bar
for the specific user to facilitate the mouse click. It works pretty well
but does sometimes fail.

Subject: [Vantage] RE: Using Winbatch to run MRP automatically
I just set this up for us (Vantage 5.1). We don't use Winbatch, but we use
Macro Scheduler from MJT Net (www.mjtnet.com) which I understand is quite
similar. We've been using Macro Scheduler for years to automate all sorts
of Report Builder reports, Export Utility extracts, Access macros, nightly
Labor Edits, etc., etc. It works great.
One trick to automating these kinds of processes is to have a separate user
ID in the system for it, call it Automated Processing or whatever, that no
one else can log in to. Because a couple of versions ago, Epicor took away
the keyboard shortcuts for the main menu screen. Consequently, to launch
the MRP Processing window, we have to rely on a mouse event (Position the
cursor at X,Y. Click Left), so the Vantage screen has to be in the same
place every time.
Other than that, it's pretty straightforward feeding the appropriate
keystrokes to the system with the macro, and having it wait for certain
windows to appear. One exception would be if you wanted to enter a cutoff
date for MRP processing. That would require either some date processing
from your macro (possible depending on your macro language), or you could
hard-code a date into your macro and you'd have to remember to update it
periodically. Also, you want to be sure that your MRP Processing runs
manually without errors to begin with, or you'll be fighting an uphill
battle.
Hope this helps,

Is anyone using Winbatch to set MRP to run automatically? I called Vantage
support to see if you could do this in Vantage and they said no but some of
their customers used Winbatch successfully. If you are, could you tell me
how easy/difficult it is to set up and if you would recommend the product
to
others. Thanks in advance for any help you can give.
