Using MES UI only, how does a user change their password?

Or is the only option, standard UI or having an admin reset password?

As far as I know, they must login to the standard client, or have an admin do it.

IN MES - click on the person icon on the bottom left, then select More Settings, then Change Password

Sue,

I was going to issue a gold star for saving the day, but now I have to ask - what person icon in the lower left? Or how do I get a person to show in the lower left?

If you are on-prem (and it looks like you are), and the user has Change Password privileges on their User Account, then have them right-click on the Epicor logo (top left of the window). There should be a “Change Password” option in the context menu dropdown.

This is the Classic MES window, @SueLowden gave you the Kinetic instructions.

Close, but no cigar…

If the same userID logs into the desktop Epicor client, can that user change their password there?

answered my own question… they can’t.

I did some further testing.

In the Classic desktop client, you go to the Settings window. In the Kinetic desktop client, you click on the person icon lower left and select the Settings button.

But there is no access to Settings in EITHER Classic MES nor Kinetic Data Collection.

Probably need to open a Support Case at this point… but my guess is that it’s “working as designed”. Within the MES/Data Collection program, user security is much more dependent on the logged-in Emplolyee ID, and often the Epicor UserID is generic and shouldn’t be able to be changed by the shop floor operators. That’s my guess… good luck!
