Using Azure Active Directory to Link Kinetic to Excel

@tpogue brought it to my attention this morning about a feature in the 2023.2 What’s New guide - “Using Azure Active Directory to Link Kinetic to Excel”. It specifically mentions that " You can change the data in either Kinetic or the spreadsheet and it will update the
database"

Does anyone know what this is about? As far as I know, Excel does not support updating data back to kinetic with ODATA.

The 2023.2 Installation Guide (p208-222) has a section on this topic, but it really only shows setting up the connection to an Organizational Account.

Sounds like we’re giving users DMT though Office 365.

That’s what I’m most worried about. Sure, connect excel with Kinetic, but please don’t be updating anything.

It sounds like the documentation is not in line with the intent of the feature. @Olga mentioned in a previous post of mine that they were adding Organizational Authentication in a future version

Excel just another client. Unless you write code to update from it, using REST call, it won;t do it automatically
