User Permissions

My first ask, just joined. Using Kinetic 11.2.200.3 - We have 1 company with multiple sites, how can I allow a user(s) to preform functions in any or all sites without them having to change sites?

Thanks

User Account Security → Authorize multiple sites. You’ll have duplicate menus for each site. But even if you open say Job Entry for site 1, you still should be able to access jobs for site 2 from the same program instance. If that isn’t working for you then there might be a company configuration setting somewhere disallowing that…

Thank you! I will try that.

Using the Active Desktop, you can set the company & site that an application should open with on the shortcut.

When you add a program link, the dialog lets you set the option to use the current company/site or specify the company/site to use. So what we do is create a shortcut on the desktop for each application & site combination the user will need and indicate which site it is in the name.

Hi Randy,

Each process would need a review to see how to restrict the sites you can access. For shipping Epicor does this out of the box. For everything else we have had to implement BPMs to flag/stop items.

Thank you!

Yes! This is awesome and so under-utilized.

Like, if you are doing cost adjustments as an accountant, I say NEVER use the menu for that. Give yourself an icon for each site and force yourself to think every time about which site you are adjusting for.
