I have a user for whom all the ‘Add Widget’ choices are grayed out when she tries to Edit the Home screen layout on her assigned laptop, but if she logs into my laptop, she has all the capabilities to add Widgets.
I replaced the entire Client folder on her laptop with the one from my machine, but that made no difference. Her User Security Options match those of other users who are able to edit their Home Screen.
I’m going to be honest; I am thoroughly confused. Changing the resolution on the affected user’s laptop did not help. We tried a third user’s laptop and the affected user profile DID have edit capabilities. We tried a 4th user’s laptop, and the affected user DID NOT have edit capabilities, even though that 4th user DOES have edit capabilities on the exact same device at the exact same resolution settings.
Ultimately, the affected user plugged her laptop into a dock with large monitors and she immediately had Edit capabilities. So, I guess that is kind of the solution, although our test on that 4th user’s device would suggest otherwise.
The “home” screen has to be maximized…and on a low resolution monitor that’s still not enough. Tried and tested myself. Had to move the window to a bigger resolution for it to allow editing.
