Use one ship to account for multiple customers

There have been instances in our organization where multiple customers have a ship to with the same address.
This means multiple ship to entries with all the same information, with the only difference being the customer the ship to is linked to.
Is there a reason why one couldn’t use one ship to entry for multiple customers so there wouldn’t be so many duplicated ship tos?

AFAIK, the Epicor DB defines a ShipTo as a one to many relationship on the Customer table, so doubtful this is possible.

@fnasoetion , yes, there is a way to do what you want. To accomplish this, you can do the following.

  • Create a Customer called Common Ship To’s (or something)
  • Uncheck the Valid Payer and Valid Sold To
  • On a customer that you want to use the Ship To address for, mark that Customer as Allow Ship To Third Party
  • Add a New Alternate Ship To the customer and tie it back to the generic customer and the Ship To

Not the prettiest, but it will allow you to maintain the addresses in one place.
