Normally when a valid UPS Tracking Number is entered in Customer Shipment Entry, AND the UPS URL is properly entered in Ship Via Maint, THEN the Details button on Cust Shipment Entry open a browser to the UPS tracking site. But, for the past few days or weeks, we get the UPS webpage just hangs at “Loading” forever.
I’m on 10.2.700, we have no QuickShip or Manifest or any other shipping integrations.
The URL in Ship Via is: http://wwwapps.ups.com/etracking/tracking.cgi?tracknums_displayed=5&TypeOfInquiryNumber=T&sort_by=status&InquiryNumber1=<EpicorTrackingNumber>
or another version I tried: http://wwwapps.ups.com/etracking/tracking.cgi?&TypeOfInquiryNumber=T&InquiryNumber1=<EpicorTrackingNumber>
If I manually substitute a valid tracking number into the string, then paste it into any browser, UPS site delivers the tracking info without problem. http://wwwapps.ups.com/etracking/tracking.cgi?&TypeOfInquiryNumber=T&InquiryNumber1=1Z0E30900359068329
Last time we had a problem with this functionality it was because Epicor used an obsolete browser that didn’t meet current standards.
Can anyone confirm that this functionality is working for you? Any ideas how to resolve this for me?
"the common carriers and FEDEX and UPS have made changes to their sites.
This is causing 10.2.700 to stop working. However in the new versions it is working
UPS tracking
10.2.700 error loading
2022 smart client works
2022 browser works
2023 smart client works
2023 browser works
"
By the way this isn’t an Epicor issue, the websites (FedEx , UPS) are purposely eliminating the ability to do embeds and such to force you to pay for API Access.
I confirm that the fix described on the Tracking Details Button Alternative link does work for me in 10.2.700 for UPS.
I can also confirm that the fix described by Jose (using parcelapp.com in Ship Via entries) also allows users to get tracking information and doesn’t require any customization, but the web site puts up lots of adverts.
