Good Day All,
Has anyone ever had Manifest Pro return a freight charge and then have UPS charge a different amount ? They are Domestic Parcel shipments( UPS Ground). It just started happening May 15th.
I am have started an Epicor case and have been in contact with UPS. UPS says Epicor(Quick Ship) has to request a refreshed API , gave Epicor the documentation UPS sent and Epicor says its nothing related to a refresh…

Happens to us all the time. Hard for Epicor (Manifest/QuickShip) to keep up with the changes when UPS changes the rules like the wind. It’s been a forever battle we just keep fighting. I think this is where the web based freight services can win, they can react more quickly when the carriers change stuff.
MMmm, Epicor/QuickShip is telling me they get the rates directly from the UPS API… Is the UPS right hand(API) not communicating with the left hand (Billing)??
Accurate they are hitting the API and it should yield the same results as say a worldship. However there are discretionary charges that drivers or UPS themselves can apply at time of delivery. Example we have had clearly businesses, but rural business categorized as residential because they are far outside the route. Charges like that, that UPS seemingly employ on a whim really start to create the disparity. If you get the same result from worldship, online, and manifest/quickship on a consistent basis there is nothing wrong with manifest and you should press your UPS rep. They will always blame integration first.
Thank you Mr Giese !! Ill start by looking into finding the discretionary charges. I don’t do the auditing, just told to fix it…
I have a great deal of distain for UPS. I’ve been in the weeds the last 2 years fighting to keep charges that we expect to pay (we do a lot of delivered pricing) in check with what we actually get charged. It’s also really hard to go back to a customer and say so… how about dat tree-fiddy…
Yup, I hear ya, a lot of tree-fiddies can buy a car…
