Upgrading 8.03.305 to 8.03.40x Question

Also, if you have multiple suppliers, it appears to default to the
lowest Vendor number and NOT the default or current supplier. Nice.

We've confirmed the problem as well. It works in 8.03.405a but not
8.03.407. Thanks for the heads up.

Hi All,

I am upgrading our Vantage testing server from 8.03.305K to 8.03.407.

When I perform the installation from the 400 DVD, one of the steps is to
install OpenEdge 10.1B.

Can I upgrade the 10.0B installation? If yes, do I just choose the
oe100b folder during the installation?

actually it should install in oe101b folder - you will need 10.0 to
do some maintenance on db prior to starting it in 10.1

They are separate installs....when we did the same conversion we kept
Epicust on .305 and put .404 on Mfgsys. We installed both on the
same server which means that you can run one version or the other
since only 1 OpenEdge can run on a server concurrently.

We eventually converted 3/4 of our servers to VMWare and went totally
virtual which allowed creation of separate servers and replication of
the Vantage server which allowed one copy to run .305 and the other
to run .404.

About 4 months later we retired the .305 setup to free up resources.

Re .407.....just finished upgrading .404 to .407: Major glitch with
Part Price List...it looks at Supplier Price List instead of Part
Price List. Also, had problems with our own BPM's as well as the
System BPM regarding Customer Shipments. Easy to fix and not so
dramatic if you follow the instructions regarding BPM's. The
Shipping error message does not seem to implicate a BPM, looks like a
programming problem...Support will turn you over to the BPM group and
they know exactly where to take you. Must be a known bug.

So far 4 days into .407 and waiting for a solution to the Part Price List item.

Can you be more specific about the Supplier Price List and Part Price
List problem?
Where does it use the wrong Price List: Quoting/Order Entry?
Do you mean Customer Part Price List, as opposed to Part Price List?

Thanks.

The problem is at PART/Actions/Price List......instead of showing all
of the vendors of a purchased part it looks up the Supplier Price
List with a Supplier named (if you had previously associated one)
but no pricing details or way to see which other suppliers provide that part.

If this is still unclear contact me at bcarlson@....
