Upgrade from Vantage 3 to 4

You need to make your promsgs.dll file read only. The multiple users can
access it at once. Do a search for it. I believe it is in Progress\bin
folder.

I have no idea what it means. The promsgs file exists and there
should be no issues. Can anyone help?

Allen...are you sure the database is running? Can you
see it in the progress explorer tool?

This will sound stupid, but should the database be running? I thought
the instructions said to have it stopped.

Allen -

Don't forget to set the environment variables for the
DLCSRV and DLC for the location of progress/bin. You
need to also verify in the vantage.ini file as well
the locations for these. (Tech support had a document
about this since it was a common error.)

If that doesn't work, let me know, I can dig up the
how-to for "hotwiring" a fix for the promsgs error.
