My understanding is no - somewhere in the process you need to run data conversions that get installed with each version. I am planning on doing 5.2 to 6.1 on Jan 2. When I contacted our CAM for the 6.1 distribution I had him check to see if 6.0 had already been sent to us or not (it had not) and the feeling was that it would be required to get to 6.1 so 6.0 is being sent as well. It will be similar to when we went from 4.0 to 5.2 - one upgrade after another - except a LOT easier due to fewer changes.
Speaking of which - anyone know if there are a lot of RB or Crystal related changes to look out for between 5.2 and 6.1?
