Updateable Dashboard not Updating!

Got it to work. Problem was with my BAQ. I wasn't pulling all the required fields for updating. I originally had only Job Head and Job Mtl. When I went to the update Process screen, and selected the Business object it also added JobAsm, which i had been unchecking b/c i thought it wasn't necessary. So i went back and added the job assembly DB, displayed the required fields and it worked great! Thanks for everyone's help. I appreciate it.

I don't know where to check though other than a possible issue with my Business Object and Method. The BO its using is JobEntry, which makes sense, and the Method is UpdateExt, which I don't know if that is correct. There are not BO/Methods directly associated with the RFQ Needed Checkbox in Job Entry. If I run a trace and click that box then add a number of vendor quotes, my trace shows nothing, until I save or do something else. I've tried rebuilding it from scratch and Generated the BPMS. Everything seems to work besides the fact that it's not saving my changes. (I did upload the BAQ in the files section if anyone has a sec to look at it.)

Does saving and refreshing bring back the original data, if so, make sure you have permissions to change the field. If the data doesn't change and you do have permission then double check the updatable BAQ.

I also tested the dashboard and it says that it works in the test.

Any thoughts on why it's not updating correctly or what I am missing here. I'll put a copy of it Files/BAQ folder called FindParts.baq in case anyone wants to take a look.

Hi,
In the BAQ - Update - Update Processing screen make a change to the table to update, save it, change it back to what you need then regenerate BPM directive. This has worked for me.

Tried that, no success. I am thinking it might have to do with Business object update method? Right now the Business object is "Job Entry" which is correct, but when you check the RFQ box on the job entry screen it doesn't trigger any business objects, until you save or something like that. Could that be why it's not working right?

Yes I did. It does not produce any errors when I run the Test Application thing on the dashboard deployment screen.

Yes I did. It does not produce any errors when I run the Test Application thing on the dashboard deployment screen.

Did you remember to push as Dashboard Assembly and not just a regular dashboard?

Subject: [Vantage] Updateable Dashboard not Updating!!

Hi all,

I created an updateable BAQ that will display all job material of a certain class across all jobs associated with a project. The BAQ gives me the message saying that it updated successfully. So I link the BAQ to my dashboard, run the dashboard, put in my information and hit save. It looks like it does something, but when I go back to that job nothing is updated.

The purpose of the dashboard is to allow a single person to mark items as RFQ needed across all jobs, because that material has to be ordered really early. So it allows them to update the JobMtl.RFQNeeded Check box and the JobMtl.RFQVendQuotes text box.

I also tested the dashboard and it says that it works in the test.

Any thoughts on why it's not updating correctly or what I am missing here. I'll put a copy of it Files/BAQ folder called FindParts.baq in case anyone wants to take a look.

Thanks,
Bobby

Can you elaborate on that more? I just deployed the dashboard, I haven't heard or don't know how to push it as a dashboard assembly.

And how would I know if I am pointing to my runtime or assembly?

This is my first updateable dashboard so I don't really have much experience here.

Thanks.

Seems like you have the UBAQ fine.

Now that you added it to a dashboard, you need to create the .dll file when you deploy.

Once you deploy, the system will create a Favorites called Dashboard Assemblies with a link to the UDASH. You should be running that.

If you are adding the UDASH to the Menu, then the Program Type should be Dashboard Assembly and not Dashboard Runtime. Which for your standard DASH with a std BAQ.

Some things to check:

When you test the Updatable BAQ, and it states that no errors where encountered, can you press the GetList and see the updated data? If so, the BAQ would seem good, if not you may have a BAQ issue.

When you used Menu Maintenance to place the Updatable Dashboard on the menu, did you select Dashboard-Assembly? If you choose Dashboard-Runtime for the menu type it will NOT be updatable.

When you Deploy and Test the Updatable Dashboard, in Dashboard Developer mode, can you modify the fields in the dashboard grid? Does saving and refreshing bring back the original data, if so, make sure you have permissions to change the field. If the data doesn't change and you do have permission then double check the updatable BAQ.

Regards,
John

Ok, I see my first problem them, when I do get list in the BAQ I do not get the updated data, it remains the same. Sounds like the problem is with my BAQ then.

I haven't added it to the menu yet, I have been running it from the favorites view.

When I deploy the dashboard I can update the fields, when I save and refresh the original data comes back (ie, my BAQ didn't work). I do have permission to update the field.

Thanks,
Bobby
