Nice work... I have a few apps that might prove useful down the road...nice to know.

Subject: [Vantage] RE: Updateable Dashboard Help - Job Oper table
For posterity, the issue was filling out the Column Mapping - I remapped the ttJobHead/ttJobAsmbl links to use the JobOper fields and voila, good to go.
More specifically, when I brought in JobEntry.UpdateExt it forced the checkbox on ttJobHead, ttJobAsmbl & ttJobOper. I then went to the expression table below and changed the required Company, JobNum & AssemblySeq for the ttJobHead & ttJobAsmbl to point to ttJobOper equivalents and it all broke loose.
Alternatively, the solution might've been to start with a JobOper table ONLY and then bring in JobHead after getting the updateable piece working, but either way it worked!
Hurray!
Ken

Off the cuff easy thing to try... update the jobhead job released/engineered to false, save, then try changing your joboper fields.. it's a stretch but..

Subject: [Vantage] Updateable Dashboard Help - Job Oper table
I'm trying to create an updateable dashboard for our scheduler to be able to quickly adjust resources (scheduling blocks) on jobs. I've done a few of these and thought I had the process, but this one isn't cooperating....
Here's what I've tried & results
* Use JobEntry.UpdateExt method
o It yelled at me about needing JobHead data, so I brought JobHead data in. Otherwise I get error "no header records found - processing aborting"
o I can update JobHead data, saves no problem
o I can update JobOper data - it says everything is good, but upon refresh the data reverts back - save never occurs
o I'm bringing in required fields JobHead.Company, JobHead.JobNum, JobOper.Company, JobOper.JobNum, JobOper.OprSeq, JobOper.AssemblySeq - as listed by the Data Dictionary Viewer for the Primary Index
* Use JobEntry.ChangeJobOperMachines method
o When doing a trace in job entry this is ran first, but nothing saves, it's like it's a check only. Figured I'd try it anyway.
o Says it runs fine, but again, upon refresh the data reverts back - save never occurs
* I noticed on a trace that the Update method also saves WIMachines (in addition to Machines which is the field name for scheduling blocks) - I brought this in and modified both fields with the same new variable, same results - says all is good, refresh and data reverts back.
* Tried JobOperSearch.UpdateExt - but of course this is a read only method, so I got error "Update of JobOper not allowed."
* Regenerated BPM directive between every change listed above
At this point it seems to me the UpdateExt method is the right one, but it's almost as if I need to run the ChangeJobOperMachines method first and then the UpdateExt - at least this is what happens when you trace it. Any way of doing this? Is there something else simple I'm overlooking? Some other method?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Ken
