UOM Costing Decimals EA Scrap percentage Manufacturing

We have a packaging Part with Inventory UOM of “EA” and it already has many transactions.

We do not wish to transact in decimals but would like to include a quantity of 1.00 in a Bill of Material (BOM) plus scrap of 5% meaning that 1.05 units are costed.

We have not found a way to allow decimals in the BOM but not for transaction entry.

We have learnt that:
Decimals only seem to be successful in the BOM if the Inventory UOM is set to allow say 2 decimals ( but this would allow transacting decimals)

Looking for any suggestions!

Take a look at the Material Burden field in Part Maintenance. This adds a “burden rate” to the cost of a part when it is received.

Make sure you test it out to see if it fulfills all your requirements!
