Unwanted Released Jobs

Since we went live, Epicor has been creating a lot of extra jobs and “noise” for production - in order to keep track of which jobs to actually run, we have been manually releasing them. This serves as their production schedule and what they know what to run for the week

Recently firm jobs created by MRP are showing up as already release, messing with their schedule. Does anyone know how to prevent MRP from auto-releasing jobs or the process which is causing this? I’m also noticing that these are mainly ones with suggestions.

Make sure no one is running nor scheduled the Job Auto Firm nor Job Auto Release Processes.
You should be able to view anything scheduled like this in your System Monitor on the Scheduled Tasks tab, just be sure to enable the ‘Display All Tasks’ option in the Actions menu.
Natively Epicor should not be auto Firming nor Auto Releasing Jobs unless those processes are ran or if there is a BPM setup to do it. If you have an Audit/Change Log BPM (Data Directive) setup on the Job Firm or Job Release fields you should be able to see which user is Firming or Releasing the Jobs.

Epicor will not auto-firm any jobs UNLESS you have the auto firm horizon turned on. it is set in the SITE MAINTENANCE app.

True, forgot about that.
But it shouldn’t auto Release?

Hmmm… do you have the Auto Job Release process running in the background after MRP?

Hi - we are experiencing a similar problem. MRP has been releasing and unreleasing jobs without rhyme or reason. MRP is not firming jobs, but it is releasing jobs… we do not use Auto Firm or Auto Release.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

This helped.
