"Un-completing" an operation for a job

Thanks for the tip, but the receipt has already been invoiced. Can't edit
the receipt.

Was the first 5000 received from the finisher and marked as complete in
receipt entry before the 2nd 5000 were ready to go out? Would editting the
receipt reopen the operation? We also add extra operations to handle rejects
going back to the finishers.

Hi Keith,

Like Cameron said, because occasionally this happens to us. I would
create a subc operation 41 that re-creates along with the comments the
same as op 40. At least you won't have to create a whole new job.

Thanks Warren,
That was the first thing we tried. However, this is not a Labor entry.
It
is accomplished when the P.O. is made for the plating process, and my
shipper ships the parts to plater in Vantage.

Hello All.
I have a job set up in Vantage, with the following operations:
Op 10 = set-up process
Op 20 = manufacturing process
Op 30 = Inspection Process
Op 40 = Sub-contractor plating process
Op 50 = Final Inspection Process prior to shipment to customer
Now, I have a job set up for 10,000 pcs. 5,000 pcs were shipped last
week to our subcontractor. Now my shippind department wants to ship
the balance to our plater, but on that specific job, Operation 40
shows as complete. I have tried to no avail to "un-complete" this
operation. When I try to generate a P.O. for my plater and refer to
this specific job, there is nothing left to "pull" from Operation 40,
and op 40 shows as complete.
I have tried numerous different strategies to "un-complete" Op 40,
but all to no avail.... As an "end-around," I generated a new job for
the remaining 5,000 pcs, created the P.O., shipped the parts, then
immediately closed the job. This is not the correct way to
accomplish this, but I HAD to ship parts...
Anyone with any assistance, it would be GREATLY appreciated...

Thanks In Advance

You could have created Op 45 = Sub-contractor plating process. This should
give you a place to pull the remaining pieces from.

Keith,

Did you check the receipt that was entered for the Subcontract operation?
This is usually where the operation is flagged complete. There are two
things that could be flagged complete when entering the receipt. The first
is if it is "received complete" which is linked up to the PO and the second
is "issued complete" which is linked back to the job. HTH.

Importance: High

Thanks Warren,
That was the first thing we tried. However, this is not a Labor entry.
It
is accomplished when the P.O. is made for the plating process, and my
shipper ships the parts to plater in Vantage.

When we have this happen we locate (in Job Tracker) the "operator" or
employee that entered labor with "job complete". We remove the complete
status in labor entry.

Hope this helps.

Subject: [Vantage] "Un-completing" an operation for a job

Keith
