UltraGrid/User Defined Tables

Not necessarily, we're apparently being trained in the use of PC in a
months time. I've had a quick demo of what it can do and it certianly
looks good, so I might just wait till then.
Thanks
Bill

Hi - I'm fairly new to working with Vantage but I've been developing
with a variety of tools over the years. I have a question regarding
form customization which I'm hoping someone may be able to help with:
I need to add in additional fields to the Order Entry screen to cater
for product specifications - these are basically varying product
dimensions and for each order there could be any number of variations.
I also need to be able to pull that data through to the job entry.
I first thought of using the custom fields until I found I'm limited to
about 20 numeric fields - I will potentially need far more than 20. So
I then thought I could use a user defined table, create the fields I
need and access that in the original order form by way of an ultragrid.
So I've created the new table and then go to the order form, drag in a
grid control and try to set the data source, but I don't see my user
defined table listed. Is there a reason for this, and can someone
suggest a better approach to what I'm trying to do ?
Thx
WM
You could try product configurator if you have that option or is this a
sledgehammer to crack a nut ?

kind regards
