UD field does not allow filtering on Part grid search

We have (several) UD fields on the Part table, and some users want to use the default Part search to filter through them. No problem, I thought, I can add the fields to the grid with “Personalize Columns” from the Overflow Menu… but then when I click the Filter icon those fields don’t get a filter option.

Is there something I need to do somewhere else to allow filtering here, or do I have to make a BAQ search or a dashboard?

For others with this issue, it is a known bug and Problem ID PRB0257139. Currently no date or version listed for completion, but it has a “2-High” priority. Hope that helps.
