Trial Balance

The "SAVE" function is still there for any report you created with the
Financial Report Designer and generate under Financial Reports. The
'General Ledger' report that equates to a trial balance is a standard
progress report and never had a "SAVE" function.

Well, I'm still on 5.1, but did they take the 'SAVE' button away in 6.1?
The boss will have heart failure when we migrate. In my version, all you do
to get it into excel is generate the report, then click the save button and
it saves it as an excel file with all of the columns and so on...

As far as I know there is not a canned Trial Balance report. I created our
Trial Balance in Financial Report Designer, it's a pretty simple report.
You can generate it in Financial Mgmt>GL>Reports>Financial Reports, and then
save it to Excel from that point.

It has the Account Num (Div, Chart, Dept.), Description, opening bal,
debits, credits, ending bal.

It's under G/L reports.

I printed with Print Preview, and now I am in c:\epicor\mfgwrk61. I
don't see it. I sorted by last modified and nothing is dated
today. What would the file be called?

I have it in excel now, but everything is in column A. Any way to
automatically split it out into several columns within excel?

You should be able to drag the lines on the delimiting option that allow free form seperation (as opposed to character delimited column setting).

I print the GL with no detail for my trial balance. Since going to 6.1, the
reports are in Crystal format. My trial balance now takes up 3-4 times more
pages than it used to because it prints 3 lines per account number, most of
these are zeroes. Also it is not printing the total of debits and credits,
only the beginning and ending balances. Has anyone using 6.1 revised this
report to shorten it and get the totals back?

Well, I'm still on 5.1, but did they take the 'SAVE' button away in 6.1?
The boss will have heart failure when we migrate. In my version, all you do
to get it into excel is generate the report, then click the save button and
it saves it as an excel file with all of the columns and so on...
