We are preparing to have some Epicor training from a third-party consulting company. They have asked us to have our Training database ready for use when they arrive to do the training. We do not have a Training database, never had one during our implementation that took place a couple years ago.
Is the ‘Training’ database the same as the ‘Demo’ database that you can install from the Admin Console?
Along those same lines… we own Embedded Education license but never received any specific ‘Education’ database to be used with it. Is there such a thing as a unique ‘Education’ database for use with Embedded Education or other Epicor training courses? We have been using the ‘Demo’ database for this purpose.
The Training database could either be the Demo, or a snapshot of your live/production database instance. I would ask for clarification what they are wanting to use.
Embedded education works in conjunction with your Demo database. It ties into your help system to give you links to PDFs that you can follow to learn the content.
Thanks Doug. The consultant gave me the impression that the ‘Training’ database was something that Epicor provided during initial implementation, and the data inside was somehow tailored to the licensing that you purchased, etc. We never had anything like that.
Sounds like I’ll be spinning up an environment with the Demo database, and go from there.
